Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills is an exceptionally wealthy city in Los Angeles County, bordered by Los Angles and Hollywood, with perhaps the most famous zip code (90210) in America. As of 2013, Beverly Hills had a population of just under 35,000 people, including numerous actors, actresses, and celebrities.

August 3rd, 1769 was an important day in the history of Beverly Hills, as that was when Gaspar de Portola traversed native trails following what is now known as Wilshire Boulevard.

The Beverly Hills Hotel was one of the first buildings developed in the city, and in 1956 Beverly Hills annexed the Doheny Ranch, transforming it into Trousdale Estates, a neighborhood famous for housing the likes of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Jennifer Aniston.

Some of the largest employers include The Beverly Hilton, city government, The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, William Morris and Saks & Co. Notable residents currently include Carl Reiner, Ellen DeGeneres, and Charlie Sheen.
